The majority of these beautiful, colorful, vintage buttons are glass. The top button of all of the rings are vintage, some of the lower, base rings are newer. I swear it just flew by!!! This past week I have been working on reorganizing the merchandise in the store, placing orders, invoicing new merchandise and also working on the website. Next week Miriam will be taking pictures of the products I will be selling in my online store. I am excited about getting the photography done!! Thanks Miriam!<br /><br />Today I started working on my new set of vintage button rings. I haven't quite figured out how to get the entire shank off the back of the glass buttons. Usually it is easy when it is plastic or metal but the old glass buttons are giving me fits. I will try a metal file tomorrow to see if that works and if not I will talk to my pals at Home Depot. I am dying to get them finished and into the store. <br /><br />That's it for now, til next week. As most of you know, I own Sugar Magnolia, a cute little gift shop out in Harpers Ferry, WV. I am in the process of working on my online store, hoping to go live by early October. (ok, so I am a dreamer) In the meantime, I thought that I would start a blog to keep my friends, family and customers up to date on my store and what's going on in Harpers Ferry. This is a busy year for our town, with the commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of John Brown's Raid taking place on the weekend of October 14th-17th. The first weekend of October will find Harpers Ferry filled with marathon runners as the first "Freedom Run Marathon" starts off in Harpers Ferry National Park and goes 26 miles through 4 National Parks. There is also a half, 10k, 5k and Kids Fun Run.
